England beat Colombia in the fourth quarter-final to set their semi-final clash against Australia in the FIFA Women's World Cup. 

Alessia Russo scored in the 63rd minute to double the lead for England. The European champions qualified for the semi-finals for the third consecutive time. 

Leicy Santos scored for Colombia in the 44th minute and it took their confidence on another level. But it was not too late when England scored an equaliser thanks to Lauren Hemp. 

Colombia qualified for the quarter-finals for the very first time. England will face co-hosts Australia on August 16 in Sydney. Spain will play Sweden on Tuesday in Auckland for the other spot in the final.

Australia down France on penalties to reach FIFA Women's World Cup semis

Co-hosts Australia defeated France 7-6 on penalties to reach the semi-finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time.

The quarter-final between the two sides finished 0-0 after extra time on Saturday.

Australia goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold denied three French penalty takers and missed one herself in a thrilling shootout, with Cortnee Vine stepping up to convert the decisive spot-kick and send Australia into a semi-final.
